Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.
— Carl Gustav Jung

DREAMWORK

DREAMS ARE often THE PUREST EXPRESSION OF THE UNCONSCIOUS.

Consciousness is important, yet it is only a small fraction of who we are. The unconscious is the realm where our felt experiences of life lie. This is the storehouse of our personal history as collected by the totality of our being.

When we sleep our conscious mind goes offline, the mind that often inhibits, hides, censors and restricts our true Self. Unconscious material then emerges within the dreamscape in the language of symbolic images and metaphor.

We may not know exactly why we dream, however, we do know that when we pay attention to the imagery and symbolism contained within them, we are given the opportunity to learn about ourselves.

To live aligned with your true Self, you must see and listen to these unconscious aspects that remain in the shadows.

More often than not, these are the attitudes and energies that drive you in waking life.

From a Jungian perspective the psyche or mind is a self-regulating system, seeking harmony and wholeness. Therefore the unconscious tends to illustrate the bigger picture of your life - what is missing from conscious awareness.

Some might say the most direct way to access unconscious material is through dreams.

Your unconscious inner world must be witnessed and expressed to enable you to understand yourself deeply, to digest experiences, to live, to learn, to heal and to point the way towards your highest potentials and life’s possibilities.

DREAMWORKING WITH ME SEEKS TO OPEN UP THE DREAM for exploration

I do not interpret your dream symbols, rather I guide you through processes of discovering their meanings for yourself as they are deeply personal.

Only you can determine what your dream means.

Our sessions will involve, not only thorough discussions, but also creative, embodied and experiential practices, such as art-making with Arts Therapy, meditation and guided visualisation. If you are new to these practices, we will take things gently, at your own pace.

For those curious about the use of Tarot cards as a tool for projection, representation, self-reflection and insight, we can also include this powerful art into the mix.

Dreamwork can be interwoven into our therapeutic sessions, or it can be explored separately as a practice of its own.
